BE LED - Our Identity as a son or daughter of God is in Being Led

Being Led by God speaks to our identity in Him. It is a sign of being a son or daughter of God. Romans 8:14 says "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God." If you are child of God, God is your heavenly Father, then as His child what you do or do not do should reflect the heart of your Father in Heaven. Sometimes we may struggle with being led because we do not understand our position in Him. Our position in Him as a son or daughter of God is a position of belonging. We are not orphaned and have no one to care for us. No. As a child of God, we have God as our Father, a loving and compassionate Father that leads, protects, teaches, disciplines and encourages us.

As a parent you always want the best for your children. If children are left to themselves with no instruction or guidance, they will gravitate to their lowest state of sin and even death. God as our Father never wants us to be left to ourselves. If we choose our own way of doing things and being led by our flesh, pleasing others, the world, and controlled by our sinful nature, we cannot please God and it will lead us away from Him and you will spiritually die. (Romans 8:5-13)

If we want to the fullness of what our Father God has for us, we must be led by Him. If you wonder how to be led by God,  here are a few things to do:

  1. Get into the Word of God so that you can know Him. His Word is a guide for our lives. Let the Word of God speak to you personally.

  2.  Attend a Bible-Believing Church and get involved in ways that will build the kingdom of God. Attending church regularly and being around other believers will help you to grow in your relationship with God.

  3. Pray every day, get into His presence and learn to hear His voice and know when He is impressing things upon your heart, learn to understand the signs He gives to you and His guidance in your life.
